As the raised bed was the main focal point of the front garden I wanted to create something that would look great all year round.  The main structural plants would have to be evergreen and the obvious choice was some sort of topiary which they could keep clipped and under control in a relatively small space.

We settled on a clipped cone shaped yew for the back corner which would give her a lovely Christmas tree shape for the lights.

I also wanted to bring an air of spring to the planting as this was Norma’s favourite time of year.  Seasonal bulbs were the obvious choice so that we could ensure there was colour at all times of the year.
