Michael and Valerie approached me because their current garden, although lovely, was not really working for them. Specifically, the driveway at the front of the house was quite narrow due to a raised area and steps leading to the front and this meant that it was not possible to turn the car around.
The terrace area at the back of the house was really complicated. In fact I have never seen quite so many changes in level in one area! As well as being quite dangerous, it was impossible to navigate with a wheelbarrow and the area designated for dining wasn’t really big enough to accommodate the number of people they desired.
Set amongst beech trees and beautiful countryside, the rest of the garden had a woodlandy feel to it. Although Michael and Valerie didn’t want to change the general ambiance of the garden, they did want some help to redefine some of the areas within it.
